Mayor Stephanie Boardingham

Stephanie Boardingham was elected Mayor of Forest Hill in June 2022. She took her Oath of Office on June 29, 2022 to serve a 3-year term until 2025.

In 2016, she was elected to the Forest Hill Public Library Board and served for one year as a Trustee for Place 4. Focusing on the youth of the community, Boardingham and Keith R. Smith brought The Cat in the Hat program to life which encourages and promotes literacy for all ages. When a grant was obtained, she made sure children’s books were purchased in both English and Spanish to meet the needs of the community.  She is currently working on the 6th year of The Cat in the Hat Reading Program.

In 2017, Boardingham was elected to Place 6 on the Forest Hill City Council, serving a two-year term.  As a Member of the City Council, she obtained her Municipal Official’s Certification for two years consecutively.  Boardingham sought to improve the City Budget which included reinstating the Citizens’ Audit Committee. She successfully pushed for positive changes to the city’s permit process and fees, and focused on a more open and transparent government.  She was on the team that ushered in the trolley transportation service, and nominated and voted for street repairs.

During her time-off as an elected official, Boardingham created the community group, “Forest Hill Forward” which serves the community in many areas of need.  For the past 6 years, she has been a volunteer for Forest Hill Parks & Recreation/Clean City Commission, as the photographer for Yard of the Month, to assist with City-wide Clean-ups, and she was instrumental in bringing events to Family Fun Day. Boardingham served as the Chairman on the Audit Committee, Community Development Corporation, Charter Review Committee, and Civic Center Committee.  She also volunteers for the American Red Cross, Forest Hill Lions Club, Forest Hill Forward and Kids Vision for Life.

Mayor Boardingham understands the budgeting process and Forest Hill’s day-to-day city operations. While focusing on the budget, reviewing ordinances, the permit process and fees, she will be evaluating the needs of the community, treatment of citizens and businesses, working on ways to narrow language barriers, reducing property tax, bringing in new businesses and listening to the concerns and needs of everyone.  Special attention will be given to ushering in a grocery store to southside, addressing flood problems, transportation needs, youth activities, community resources for seniors/veterans/youth and street repairs.

Mayor Boardingham understands the diversity of Forest Hill and the importance of city elections as a means for citizens to voice their opinions.  She is thankful to Forest Hill residents for their votes of confidence and trust.  She will dedicate her time to move Forest Hill Forward.

Stephanie and her husband, Timey, are parents and grandparents to a beautifully diverse family. They have been business owners in Forest Hill for the past 10 years.
