Mayor Gerald Joubert

Mayor Gerald Joubert is currently serving his third term as Mayor of the City of Forest Hill.  In 2013, he ran unopposed - the first time in the history of the city that no one ran against the incumbent Mayor in an election.  Mr. Joubert was first elected to the City Council in 2003.

Employed as the Chief of Security for a logistics company in north Fort Worth, Mayor Joubert has lived in Forest Hill since November, 1989.  He and his wife Sonya have been married for more than 20 years and have raised three adult sons and a daughter.  Their teenage son is currently attending high school in the Everman ISD

As Mayor of Forest Hill, Mr. Joubert’s additional volunteer services include his role as Chairman of the City’s Community Development Corporation. He was appointed as the 2017 Chairman for the Mayors Council of Tarrant County, having served as Vice Chairman in 2015 and 2016.  He has been a member of that organization’s Economic Development Committee and Nominating Committee since 2013 and a Legislative Representative since 2014.  Mayor Joubert also served as the Assistant Regional Director of Region 11 for the National Black Caucus of Elected Officials (NBC-LEO), and is a member of the Texas Association of Black City Council Members (TABCCM).

As Mayor, Mr. Joubert strives to bring honesty, respect, and service to the citizens of Forest Hill. He is committed to maintaining an open and transparent city government, bringing quality economic development to the community, improving city infrastructure, and providing superior customer service to the citizens him and the council serve.

“As the city continues to grow, so will our COMMUNITY DRIVEN spirit, the spirit we as citizens of Forest Hill have carried with us for many, many years.”   He adds that “As leaders of our city, we need to be on forefront change.  Change moves us forward and when we move in that direction, there can be nothing but positives in our city.”
