City Council Member Racquel Buffin Belle
Racquel Buffin Belle was elected to Place 1 in May, 2018. She is currently serving in her first term in office as a Forest Hill City Council member.
Ms. Belle is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies. She is also a Certified Paralegal. Racquel is the past Vice- President of the Forest Hill Public Library and was a Commissioner for the Parks, Recreation and Clean City Committee.
Council Member Belle is employed by the Department of Justice as a Drug Treatment Specialist and has been a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for more than 21 years. She is currently Treasurer for the American Federation of Government Employees Union Local 1298 where she is also the CFL33-AFGE Legislative Political Coordinator who has negotiated several Policies and Procedures for the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth. Ms. Belle has previously been employed as a Substitute Teacher and Lead Paralegal.
Ms. Belle is a member of the NAACP and is a volunteer for the Women's Free Legal Aide Clinic. She is a former Youth Leader, Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor, Employees Association Vice-President, and Secretary for the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice. Racquel attends Bethel Church in Fort Worth.
Council Member Belle has been a resident in Forest Hill for 36 years and spent two years living in North Carolina. Her recently married daughter is also a resident of Forest Hill and a graduate of UTA with a Bachelor of Science degree. She works as a Detention Officer for the Arlington Police Department. Ms. Belle’s son in-law is employed by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department as an Officer.
